Webcomic recommendations: A Start Fragment

Folken is a thief, who is easily distracted, and he just stole the wrong thing from the wrong people.
The story is funn and it takes place in a fantasy world full of weird creatures.
The art is not perfect, but you can see the artist is getting better. The strength is the right use of colors.

Webcomic recommendation: Zom-Ben

Ben is a guy living a normal life, he’s a comic artist looking for job and sharing an apartment with his friend. One day he accidentally summons the Egyptian god Anubis.
After Ben gives Anubis some advice, Ben receives a gift. A bracelet that makes him a zombie, so Ben becomes Zom-Ben superhero zombie.
Fun and funny this webcomic mixes genres with success. There are secrets, villains, other heroes and big fights in this Universe.
The cartooning is good and with details. Sometimes in color, and sometimes in black and white.

Webcomic recommendation: Lo que la muerte se llevó

Do you like zombie stories? Do you like romantic stories? How about a romantic story interrupted by a zombie infestation?
“Lo que la muerte se llevó” (Gone with the death) tells the story of a young man who has to deal with losing his girlfriend, Barbara.
With a first-person narrator; you can see what the protagonist feels right away.
Art with grey tones that can be grotesque in some scenes and cute when it’s required.

Cover for Volume 5: "Lost Son"

In the Analco neighborhood is the mural in memorian of 1992 explosions' victims. With the Virign of Guadalupe, is the perfect image for "Lost Son"
La Jornada Jalisco

I didn't like  Fausto's pose in the first drawing. I changed it to him standing, looking at the neighborhood.

Guadalupe and Fausto

Versión en español
I went to a catholic school, with nuns and religion as subject.
I even participated in "Our Lady of Guadalupe" knolwledge contest answering trivia questions about the apperances.
Me in 3rd grade

I'm an atheist now, but I probably know more about La Virgen than most people who use her image for everything.

Alex Lora, roquero

With that cultural background in mexicans and a little bit of homage to Belascoran Shayne (another mexican P.I.) in "Lost Son" Fausto has a case involving La Guadalupana

New story begins Friday May 11th

1992 Guadalajara Explosions

On April 22nd 1992, there were explosions on the sewers of Guadalajara, killing 240 people and many more injured.
Disaster Recovery Journal

I only remember a “BOOM” looking at the sky waiting for something to happen. I was too little to know what was going on.
It wasn’t until years later in school when I learned more. About the gasoline in the underground drainage, the irregularities, the bad politics and how many got injured or died.
CNN México

I also watched the National Geographic show “Seconds from Disaster” (the episode is in youtube here), watched other news report and read articles.
The event comes up every year on the anniversary, but it’s still a strange distant thing to me.
I’m sure that for all the victims it a vivid memory, the witness know it was a tragedy that could have been prevented it, and the people who were born years later probably don’t take it seriously.
“Lost son” deals with this part of Guadalajara’s history, is in the past of the characters. Because I want Detective Fausto to tell the story of this city that it’s not used as much in mexican fiction.

Olivia give Fausto the photograph from Chapala, and he put it next to her mother ashes. Is that cute or creepy?
